Lucia Koch
Born in 1966 in Porto, Brazil
Lives and works in Sao Paulo, Brazil       CV
---------------------------------------------
Lucia Koch’s works take architectural space as their starting point, both in their shape and function, where she works with the experience of space. Through various interventions and additions she lays the ground for a reflection about the framework that the architecture itself constitutes. For example, by changing the lighting with the help of various filters or by adding materials or forms she raises our awareness about the centrality of the physical surroundings in our lives.

Beside exhibiting in galleries, Koch also works in other contexts. In 2004 she did a project called Jardim miriam Arte Clube-JAMAC together with the residents in the poor district Jardim Miriam in Sao Paolo. Turkish Delight was an installation that she did in a traditional Turkish bath during the 2003 Biennial in Istanbul.
